Bringing Baby Home

It all looks so sweet, doesn't it. This was the day we brought Anna home. Rachael came down with a horrible cold that night, necessitating a midnight run to Redicare. Try keeping a sicky toddler off your new baby. Right.

Hurdle #1

Although her big girl room is not finished, the biggest hurdle is past. I'm excited at how this turned out. Hopefully I'll be able to get a little more done before the baby comes.

FYI: The birds are a mountain blue bird, a gold finch, and a scarlet tanager. Two of the three can be seen in Idaho. I'll give a gold star to anyone who knows which ones.

2.5

I've been having dreams lately where I've been extremely frustrated. I hate it when I have emotional dreams because when I wake up I'm still in that state and it's hard not to act accordingly. I figured out this morning that my recent spate of dreams has had a theme: waiting. In the dreams it's usually Patrick I'm waiting for, but I'm pretty sure my subconscious is really tired of waiting for the baby.
We have 2 1/2 weeks to our due date, March 15. So in the spirit of doing something productive ;) I will now open it up for your bets. What day and time do you think the baby will actually come?
FYI: Rachael was 2 days late...but I might have to hurt anyone who thinks this baby will be any later than that.

Sneak Peak

Just so you don't think I've been a slacker, I have been working on Rachael's big girl room. I'm just going super slow since we've been so busy and I'm so tired all the time. Here's a sneak peak for you though.

3 Years

To celebrate our 3rd anniversary, we spent the night at a farmhouse in Ashton, ID so we could attend the American Dog Derby- the longest running dog sled race in North America. We were sans Rachael, and I missed her. She apparently was fine with the separation. It was fun to spend time with just Patrick and I, although I would not repeat the farmhouse thing when 8 months pregnant again. The night before we ate at one of the 4 restaurants in town, 511 Main which is a new place, but they kept the original soda fountain that was in the drug store before. We shared a chocolate banana malt. Yummy. The next morning, we got up early (for a Saturday) to get to the races. We enjoyed watching the dogs. They were so excited to get moving, jumping everywhere. There were hundreds of dogs and a variety of races from 20 to 90 miles over 2 days. They also had children's snowshoe races and a mutt run.

Yum

Rachael likes curried rice with cottage cheese mixed in. She was licking the bowl too.

Running Wild

We removed all the furniture from the front room so that the carpet could be cleaned. Apparently, Rachael needs wide, open spaces. It will be nice when the family room is finished down stairs just for that. Sorry, no audio. Our video camera battery is dead so this was taken with the regular camera. You get the picture.
