- I easily get things stuck in my head. So if I couldn't watch it as a movie due to the rating, I don't want to read it.
- I love thinking while reading.
- I love twists and layers.
- Light humor. Dry humor. Slapstick...

a Novel idea
I need to read a really good book. The problem is I don't know what's out there. When I go to the library I end up wandering around looking for anything with an interesting cover, knowing fool well the truth in the saying. Last time I picked a truly irritating book. So, I'm asking for suggestions. What should I read? As a caveat, I should also define my idea of a good book:

Doomed
I guess I doomed my daughter. I wanted her to have a traditional name with a twist. So we went with Rachael instead of Rachel. Its sort of an Anne with an e idea. Apparently, its not unique enough making it unnoticeable and therefore forgettable. A lot of Rachael's Christmas presents this year were tagged sans a. I even made the mistake when beading her name onto her stocking--luckily that was easily fixed. Its a little late to take it back now. I don't know how to point out the mistake without making anyone feel bad and so I've not said anything. What a silly quandary.

blogging
I need to write things down before I forget them. Case in point: Rachael's milestones. As of this date, she can:
- sit and reach
- feed herself cheerios
- say ba, ma, and occasionally da & la
- blow raspberries
- grunt effectively
- splash in the tub
- pull herself up onto her knees in her crib
- remove my glasses
- remove any headbands I try to put on her
- bang 2 toys together
- deliberately drop things
- wave
- clap
- stick her finger up her nose
- undo the velcro on her diapers
- pull the power cord out of the laptop
- push herself backwards while on her tummy
- smile at her teddy bear, strangers in the store, & other children
- recognize the words daddy, koda, mommy, & Rachael
- giggle when tickled or playing near/far

Here's to Rachael
Rachael is 6 months old today. She is such a beautiful little girl. She is curious and strong. Sometimes I swear she already has an active sense of humor. Although the transition to mother (and baby) hood was difficult at times, I can't believe she hasn't always been a part of my life.

Snot
Rachael is suffering from her very first runny nose. Man, this kid has got a lot of snot. I've been wiping her poor, red little nose and using the bulb syringe regularly. In spite of my efforts, she just sneezed and the mucous flowed all the way past her mouth. Yuck. I had to hurry so she wouldn't suck it all off her lips. She pretty happy though, so I guess we're lucky this time.

Poopy Girl
Jamie was getting Rachael ready for bed tonight and Rachael decided she needed to fill her diaper before going to bed. This was after changing her a few minutes earlier. Apparently this put Rachael in a very good mood. She loves to be called Poopy Girl. So here is a few minutes of good laughs from Rachael.
